The goals of JUE are:
1. To increase diver safety and enjoyment
2. To explore the waters of Japan for new and challenging dive sites
3. To promote Japan as a world class recreational and technical dive destination

Who are we?
Japan Underwater Explorers (JUE) has been working hard to provide professional education and dive services to the Japanese and foreign communities for many years. We are not a full time dive op, but instead a group of passionate divers that dive in our spare time - Our regular divers are from a wide range of different nationalities, backgrounds and levels of diving experience.

When do we dive?
Whenever we can, all year round! But most of us hold day jobs and can only get away on weekends and holidays. Check the front page for our upcoming events.

Where do we dive?
JUE reaches from Kobe to Tokyo.
Izu (only a short trip from Tokyo) is our main stomping ground but we also have operations in Kansai and often arrange special trips to other locations in Japan (and sometimes beyond).

Where is our dive shop?
Shop? Nope. We don't have a shop, we're just a bunch of divers! But if you need a hand getting some equipment, or advice, we can help.

What is the cost to join JUE?
Just a desire to dive!

What is our style and philosophy?
Borrowing elements from technical (DIR) diving practices, we aim to promote the lessons learned by those at the cutting edge of diving to all of our divers, no matter what level. These elements appear not only during our classes, but also our regular fun dive trips.

Our approach focuses on training students to be comfortable and relaxed in the water, as we believe comfortable divers are confident divers, and confident divers have more fun! And having fun is why we dive!

Thomas Jonsson - Chief Instructor and Director
Under the guidance of Thomas, JUE has spread across Japan and made considerable strides in producing competent and safe divers.

- One of only a few GUE instructors based in Asia
- IANTD Advanced instructor
- PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Thomas has considerable diving experience from around the world, in particular cave and wreck diving. Thomas brings his passion for the aquatic realm to each and every dive with JUE.

Over the years Thomas has taught dozens of passionate divers in Japan and around the globe. Thomas is fluent in English, Japanese, and Swedish.
